Benjamin Edward Ben Stiller is an American film director, producer, actor, screenwriter, voice actor and clown. He is the son of veteran actors and comedians Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller. After starting his career as an actor with a play, Ben was offered his own show titled The Ben Stiller Show, which was hosted and produced by stiller for its entire run (13 episodes) and wrote multiple Mockumentaries. Having previously made appearances in television, stiller started acting in movies. In 1994, he released his directional debut Reality Bites. Throughout his career in the industry, Stiller has starred in written, produced and directed more than 50 films including the Madagascar Series, There’s Something About Mary, Meet the Parents, Night at the Museum and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Besides, he has made many appearances in television shows and music videos.

Stiller was born in 1965 in New York to Jerry Stiller who is a Jewish and Anne Meara who is an Irish Catholic. The family was never religious and celebrated both Christmas and Hanukkah. Stiller’s parents often took him on sets of their films including The Mike Douglas Show. Ben’s sister, Amy Stiller has appeared in many of his productions including Zoolander, Reality Bites and DodgeBall. Ben stiller has bipolar disorder.

Stiller showed much interest in film-making at an early age and made Super 8 films with his friends and sister. He made his acting debut on his mother’s television series Kate McShane. Stiller was inspired by the television show Second City Television and later he realized that he wanted to act in sketch comedy. Stiller enrolled in The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine and graduated in 1983 in New York from Calhoun School. He began giving performances on the cabaret circuits as an opening act. He then joined the University of California, Los Angeles as a film student. Later, Stiller moved to New York. He made his own way through auditioning, acting classes and trying to find agent. Stiller dated many actresses during his film and television career including Amanda Peet, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Calista Flockhart.

Stiller married Christine Taylor in May 2000 at an oceanfront ceremony in Hawaii. They first met while filming a television pilot Heat Vision and Jack which featured Jack Black. The couple starred onscreen together in Arrested Development, Zoolander, Tropic Thunder and DodgeBall. Currently they are living in Westchester County, New York and blessed with 2 children: son Quinlin Dempsey and a daughter Ella Olivia. Stiller donated money to 2004 US Presidential campaign of John Kerry and is a supporter of Democratic Party. In 2008, Ben Stiller donated funds to Presidential campaigns of Democrats Obama.
