Vivek Oberoi, born on 3rd Sept. 1976, son of Suresh Oberoi, the veteran film actor, is an actor of Bollywood. After studying Mayo College, Ajmer, he attended Mithibai College, Juhu. While attending an actor’s workshop he was seen by the director of New York University and took him to New York where he completed his masters in acting. He came back to India and worked as script-writer and bought his 1st car with the money he earned. Vivek Oberoi started his film career with Ram Gopal Verma’s film Company and bagged Filmfare Award for Best Debut and Best Supporting Actor. He acted in action movies Road and Dum. In 2002, His next film Saathiya directed by Shaad Ali was box office hit and earned him a nomination in the Best Actor category. He did the film Masti, a comedy in 2004 and starred in Yuva. In 2005, Vivek Oberoi performed in lead the role in film Kisna: The Worrior Poet. His performance in the film was appreciated by audiences.

He also acted in another gangster film Shootout at Lokhandwala in 2007. Then he starred in another action movie Mission Istanbul. He played a supporting role in film Kurbaan in 2009. Another film of Vivek Oberoi Prince in 2010 could not make any impact.

Vivek also produced a film Watch Dekh Indian Circus in 2011 which featured in the Busan Film Festival and won the Audience Choice Award for the Best Film.

The film made its name in the history of Indian cinema to be the first Indian film to have received this acclaimed and prestigious award. Vivek Oberoi won the Red and White Bravery Award in 2006 for helping re-construct a village hit by the Tsunami. He is also an anti-tobacco spokesperson for the World Health Organization. He worked with Project Hope for relief of Tsunami victims and received a Good Samaritan Award from Rotary International. Vivek Oberoi also involved with project Devi for the benefit of Cancer patients.
