Genelia D’Souza a popular Actress of Tamil, Telugu And Hindi Films Industry. Genelia D’Souza, born on Aug 5, 1987 is an actress of the Indian Cinema. She has done movies of different languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. She is born in a Mangalorean Catholic family living in Bandra, Mumbai. She has a younger brother. Genelia says her name means “rare “or “unique”. She studied at the Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra and attended St. Andrew’s College later for her Bachelor’s Degree of Management Studies. While studying Genelia D’Souza acted in her first film Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. She likes sports and was a state level athlete and national level football player. Genelia D’Souza got her first modeling assignment when she was 15 after being spotted as a bridesmaid at a wedding.

But when she saw the Telugu version of the movie she agreed and then signed three movies in different languages, Tujhe Meri Kasam (Hindi), Boys (Tamil) and Satyam (Telugu). Her performance in the film Tujhe Meri Kasam was much appreciated and commented to be natural to the core. Her acting in the Tamil movie Boys bagged her film offers in Telugu language.

Her first Telugu film was Satyam, with that she got recognition in Telugu film industry. In 2004, Genelia D’Souza got another Hindi movie Masti, a comedy. The film did well at the box office. Then she acted in two Telugu films Samba and Sye and both fared well at the box office. She acted in many other Telugu films during 2006 to 2008 and established herself in the industry. In June 2008, she returned to Bollywood with the film Mere Baap Pehle Aap. Her film Jaane Tu……Ya Jaane Na, was a great commercial success. She continued working in Telugu and Hindi movies together. She is also a brand ambassador for many companies like Fanta, LG Mobiles, Margo, Perk, Fastrack, and Virgin. Genelia D’Souza got married to actor Ritesh Deshmukh, the co-star of Tujhe Meri Kasam on Feb 3, 2012.
