Patti LuPone was born on April 21, 1949 in Northport, Long Island, New York. She is an American singer and actress. She is known for her Tony Award winning performance as Eva Peron in the 1979 and Gypsy in 2008. In 1972, LuPone became the original member of The Acting Company created by John Houseman. She has achieved iconic status for her involvement in many productions, like The Cradle Will Rock, Women Beware Women, The Beggar’s Opera, Edward II, The Time of Your Life, The Lower Depths, Measure for Measure, The Hostage, Scapin, The School for Scandal and many more. In 1973, her Broadway debut in the play named as The Three Sisters. In 1975, for her excellent work in The Robber Bridegroom she received her first Tony Award nomination in the category of best Featured Actress in a Musical.
