Peter Gene Hernandez popularly known by his stage name Bruno Mars is an American musician, singer, producer, choreographer and song-writer. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii to Peter Hernandez, Mars started making his own music in teen years and gave performances at multiple musical venues in his locality in his childhood. He also performed on songs by popular artists including Michael Jackson. At the age of 2, Bruno Mars was nicknamed ‘Bruno’ by his father due to his resemblance to legendary wrestler Bruno Sammartino. Mars came from a musical family and is one of 6 children. After having graduated from high school, Mars moved to Los Angeles to start his musical career. Co-funding the production team The Smeezingtons, Mars produced songs for other popular artists. In 1990, Mars appeared as Little Elvis in MidWeek and later was featured in 1992’s film Honeymoon in Vegas. After drawing inspiration from Jimi Hendrix, Mars started playing guitar. During his schooling, Mars used to perform in a group called The School Boys.
