Christina Judith Perri, popularly called as Christina Perri, is an American musician, singer and song-writer from Philadelphia. Perri’s first single, Jar of Hearts, topped the music charts after it was played on the television show So You Think You Can Dance on FOX in 2010. The single was a viral hit around the world, and sold about 3 million copies in the US. In the UK, the single reached #3 on the Billboard musical charts and for 3 months it was in the UK Top 40 list. Perri released her debut EP, The Ocean Way Sessions. Christina Perri songs list is rich with pops, melodies and experimental songs. After ‘Jar of Hearts’ started to draw attention, Perri signed a record contract with Atlantic Records. Her debut studio album, Lovestrong, was released in 2011 on May 10. In October 2012, she released her second extended play, A Very Merry Perry Christmas. Head or Heart, Perri’s 2nd studio album, was released on this year’s April 1. The lead track Human of this Christina Perri album was released on 18 November, 2013.

Perri was born on 19 August 1986, in Bensalem, Pennsylvania and grew up with her elder brother, Nick Perri, who is a former guitarist of Silvertide, Matt Sorum, Parry Farrell and Shinedown. She completed her graduation in 2004 from Archbishop Ryan High School. By regularly watching a video of the band Blind Melon’s Shannon Hoon performing on VH1, she self-taught how to play a guitar when she was just 16. She often acted and sang as a child in musical theatre. Perri admitted her mother had a large influence on her musical work. Her mother introduced her to rock music like Guns N’ Roses by which Christina Perri lyrics and her music were inspired. Christina Perri albums cemented her career as a musician.
Perri shifted to Los Angeles on her 21st birthday. She felt horrified of being too far away from her home. Later that year, she got married and moved to Florida. Later she started producing music videos for a living. Her marriage lasted for 18 months. Later the couple divorced and Perri moved in to a small apartment to concentrate entirely on music. In late 2009, she moved back to Philadelphia, it was during the time she wrote her debut album. Later she moved back to Los Angeles, where she used to record at night and serve as a waitress at the Melrose Cafe during the day. Jar of Hearts sold over 48,000 copies in its first week, reaching #63 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #28 on Hot Digital Songs. Within a month, the song peaked at #17 on the Hot 100. Perri’s first album, Lovestrong, topped the Billboard 200. It was the United Kingdom’s 13th highest-selling album of the year.
